Fitness Holdings Northeast LLC is looking for a CFO/Controller to join our corporate team.

We are a franchise of CRUNCH Fitness. Our mission is to launch a network of CRUNCH gyms across the northeastern United States. With franchise rights in Westchester County, NY, Pennsylvania, Northern New Jersey and Massachusetts, Fitness Holdings, LLC is on pace to build 50+ clubs throughout the Northeast Corridor.

With a focus on low cost, high volume and superior customer service, Fitness Holdings, LLC's first location opened in May 2013 in White Plains, NY and has grown to 22 clubs so far with an aggressive growth plan throughout 2020.

Job Summary:

Fitness Holdings LLC, is a privately held fitness center organization doing business as CRUNCH Fitness.  Fitness Holdings has 22 fitness centers from Boston to Philadelphia. The CFO will report to the CEO and manage all financial and operational “cost-driven” responsibilities at the company. This person will lead all company financial functions and assist in corporate operations.  The CFO will be accountable for maintaining accurate, relevant and timely financial reports and records, as well as manage all aspects of the financial process. The CFO will direct the accounting team, maintain appropriate internal controls to guarantee compliance with generally accepted accounting principles while safeguarding company assets.   Financial oversight responsibilities will include:  formulating and implementing financial policies, processes, controls and procedures; accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting; business analysis; capital allocation; corporate risk management; financial audit and operations; treasury and controllership. This individual will have a clear mandate to work across the organization as the CEO directs in order to drive value in the form of accelerated growth, more focused spending, cost-savings, and aggressive asset management. In addition to leading the financial function, the CFO will provide strategic and practical advice on issues facing the company, operationally. 

 

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Financial expert with the unique ability to operate as a financial executive one day and also rollup the sleeves and build a new cash flow or budget model the next.
  • Expert in corporate budgeting, strategic planning, M&A, cash management/forecasting, cost management/optimization and overseeing implementation of new financial reporting / systems for rapidly growing fitness club franchisee in connection with recent recapitalization with first institutional debt / equity investor.
  • Ability to oversee and integrate monthly financials from outsourced bookkeeper / controller function which may eventually be insourced.
  • Experience managing external auditors and annual audit process seamlessly from start to finish
  • Experience with (or technical capabilities to manage) cash to GAAP financial statement conversion.
  • Ability to create intuitive and succinct business KPIs, regular report cards for management and shareholders along with regular ongoing analysis evaluating portfolio performance and ROIs by legacy, new units and acquisitions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple external financing relationships across the capital structure, including monthly/quarterly financial reporting, preparation of MD&A and financial covenant compliance
  • Assist executive management in preparation of Board packages and other ad hoc Board-level reporting for company’s Board of Managers
  • Ideal candidate is self-starter with proven ability to thrive working independently in fast-paced, high-growth environment with minimal direct oversight. Experience building a finance and accounting function from the ground up (either at a start-up or recently acquired company) strongly preferred.
  • Ambitious manager with history of progressive growth in roles and responsibilities, with interest in potential transition to CEO over time.
  • Ideally have experience with multi-unit retail / restaurant / consumer.
  • Reside in (or willingness to relocate to) northeast. Location flexible.
